Kenosha Plant Supports Local School’s STEM Program
Compass Minerals Kenosha plant donated $1,200 to help Bethany Lutheran School, a local private school, implement a new hands-on curriculum called Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Launch. The program aims to empower students to become problem solvers and introduces them to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
The donation will go toward funding iPads® used by students during the PLTW Launch modules. The iPads will not only provide students with hands-on robotics and programming challenges through PLTW Launch, but they will also enrich the students’ learning in their traditional classes.
“As a manufacturing plant that produces and packages over 100,000 tons of salt per year, STEM is incorporated into our work every day,” said Mike Adams, Compass Minerals Kenosha plant manager. “We see the value of investing in a strong STEM foundation for students and believe it is an essential component in furthering our future.”
