Syed Kazmi has been promoted to vice president, operations, at Compass Minerals’ Goderich mine in Ontario, Canada.

Kazmi will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the mine operations, including safe production and continuous improvement initiatives. He joined Compass Minerals in 2017 as chief mine engineer and has held positions of increasing responsibility since. Prior to joining Compass Minerals, Kazmi served in operational roles with several mining companies including Vale, North American Palladium (now Impala Canada) and Brunswick Mine.

Kazmi received a Bachelor of Science in mining engineering from McGill University.
