Compass Minerals Promotes Two in Fire Retardant and Supply Chain Leadership

Compass Minerals announced today the promotions of Jenny Hood to head of fire retardants and Rocky Denney to vice president, supply chain.

In the new role of head of fire retardants, Hood will be charged with leading the strategic direction for the company’s next-generation fire-retardant business.

“As a proven leader in implementing strategies to maximize product availability and supply chain capabilities, I believe Jenny’s expertise and experience will serve the business well as we embark on the next phase of Fortress’ growth,” said Kevin S. Crutchfield, president and CEO. “Jenny understands the vital importance of building relationships with key stakeholders, and she has consistently demonstrated her ability to develop high-performing teams that are guided by our Core Values. I’m looking forward to seeing her lead our Fortress team as they continue their hard work toward gaining an increased share of the next-gen fire-retardant market that’s now open to us.”

With Hood’s new position leading the fire-retardant business, Fortress CEO Bob Burnham will be transitioning to an advisory role.

“I can’t say enough about Bob’s accomplishments in building Fortress to what it is today. His leadership and vision were key to transforming an innovative start-up into a profitable disrupter in the fire-retardant market, and I’m appreciative of all he’s contributed to the business,” stated Crutchfield.

Denney is being promoted to vice president, supply chain. He has been with Compass Minerals for 22 years and has breadth and depth of knowledge and experience in the company’s commercial team, including all aspects of supply chain.

“In this role, Rocky will lead our supply chain function, including our logistics, integrated business planning and customer experience teams,” continued Crutchfield. “I’ll look to him to ensure continuity in safely delivering for our stakeholders and maintaining the high-performance standards established by this team.”
