Compass Minerals Observes International Workers’ Memorial Day
Observed annually on April 28, International Workers’ Memorial Day (IWMD) is a day to remember and reflect on workers who have lost their lives, suffered injuries, become disabled or experienced illness as a result of their jobs.
“Our employees’ health, safety and well-being are fundamental to everything we do,” said Pat Merrin, chief operations officer. “We are fully committed to identifying and removing fatal risks from our workplaces to ensure everyone goes home safely. Today, we pause together to honor and remember the families and friends impacted by the deaths or injuries of workers.”
Compass Minerals is honoring IWMD with a moment of silence today across all sites at 11 a.m. local time.
In addition to serving as a day of remembrance, IWMD underscores that many workplace injuries and illnesses are preventable and reinforces the importance of ongoing efforts to improve safety practices across all operations.
