Compass Minerals today released its 2019 ESG Report, “Navigating with Purpose.”

The report offers a transparent look at Compass Minerals’ progress around key environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues important to our stakeholders and our long-term sustainability.

The structure and disclosures of the report align with leading sustainability reporting frameworks, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). Additionally, the company’s reporting is informed by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures and U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.

The 2019 ESG Report highlights year-over-year progress, including:

• Energy intensity down 15%
• Fresh water intensity use down 18%
• Safety Severity Index reduced 55%over a five-year period
• Employee development spending up 14%
