Compass Minerals has appointed Dean Thompson to vice president of operations of its Ogden, Utah, facility, effective April 25, 2018. Thompson will be responsible for leading the production activities for both the salt and sulfate of potash plants in Ogden.

Thompson joins Compass Minerals after a nearly 30-year career with DuPont. He brings vast experience with diverse manufacturing processes and a strong focus on optimizing safety, quality, culture, engineering and productivity standards. Thompson served as plant manager for three of DuPont’s plants, including the largest plant globally.

Thompson earned his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Colorado State University, in Fort Collins, Colorado.
