Compass Minerals Announces New VP of Operations, Lithium
Compass Minerals has named Jordan Taylor as its new vice president of operations, lithium.
A dynamic leader with a background in operations management, engineering, and project management/governance, Taylor will be responsible for overseeing the company’s lithium plant operations. This includes working to ensure operational readiness, collaborating with site manufacturing leadership to meet customer demands in a safe and sustainable way, partnering with supply chain and EHS&S, and driving operational excellence across the lithium business.
Taylor has been with Compass Minerals for nearly three years as director, engineering and operational support. In this role, he provided strategic continuous improvement guidance and technical expertise support to the operations team, making valuable contributions in capital management, mine planning, and project management/governance. Taylor has been actively involved in the leadership of the company’s lithium project since its announcement in 2021.
Prior to Compass Minerals, he held several operations and engineering roles of increasing responsibility at companies such as Covia Corporation, Anglo American and BHP. Along with his 16 years of professional experience and expertise, Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science in mining and minerals engineering from Virginia Tech. He’s also a licensed professional engineer.
