Compass Minerals Announces New VP of Manufacturing

Compass Minerals has named Brandon Risner as its new vice president of manufacturing, effective Dec. 7, 2020.

Risner is charged with leading the organization’s North American processing and packaging plants.

Risner joins Compass Minerals with more than 20 years of experience leading operations in mining and material processing. He brings a proven record of accomplishments in advancing operational performance through creating efficiencies, workforce engagement and continuous improvement. Risner has vast experience in international operations, profit and loss oversight, and safety management. 

Most recently, Risner was general manager of Illinois mines at Peabody Energy. He spent more than 17 years at Peabody in positions of growing responsibility, such as project engineer, manager of operations analytics and vice president of engineering and mine planning. Prior to his career at Peabody, Risner held positions with JD Hair and Associates and Kiewit Mining Group.

He received a Bachelor of Science in mine engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology) and Master of Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis.
