Buffalo Employees Donate Time to Lackawanna Food Pantry
On May 14, Compass Minerals employees and family members from the Buffalo facility sorted food as part of the local mail carriers’ food drive.
The Lackawanna Food Pantry helps individuals and families in the area who are temporarily unable to make ends meet. They provide food and clothing to help stretch the income of those in need.
“We have been looking for a local community agency which can use more than just monetary donations,” said Jason Bagley, Compass Minerals Buffalo plant manager. “Our site wanted to offer service and take a more proactive role in solving the issue of hunger and homelessness.”
With Compass Minerals’ emphasis on giving back to the community, the Buffalo plant continues to look for meaningful opportunities to support the people of the Buffalo and Lackawanna areas. In addition to helping sort food, Buffalo employees collected and donated canned items during the food drive.
