After the first year of a five year commitment, Compass Minerals’ Goderich sites have already donated $11,500 to help open a Fanshawe College satellite campus in Goderich.
Compass Minerals’ Goderich sites recently donated $15,000 to the Dialysis 95 + 20 campaign, a 100 day campaign aimed to upgrade and refurbish the dialysis center at the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital.
On June 10, the Goderich Mine Rescue Team won the 67th annual Provincial Mine Rescue Competition. The team also won the Team First Aid Award and Drew Dalgleish, a shaftman at the mine, placed second in the technician competition.

Compass Minerals received additional recognition for its work on the West Pond Sustainability Project and was awarded a Utah Governor’s Excellence in Energy Award and named the Environmental Leader of the Year. The company was presented with the award by Governor Gary R. Herbert at the Governor’s Utah Energy Development Summit.

On May 13, the Goderich Mine Rescue Team won the Southern District of the Ontario Mine Rescue competition, taking first in all three categories: first aid, technician and team competition.
On May 4, Compass Minerals welcomed a team of Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) officials and United Steel Workers representatives for a tour of the Cote Blanche mine.
On May 14, Compass Minerals employees and family members from the Buffalo facility sorted food as part of the local mail carriers’ food drive.
