Ryan Bartlett

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, LITHIUM COMMERCIAL AND TECHNOLOGY

Ryan Bartlett, Ph.D., joined Compass Minerals as vice president, innovation and product development in 2016. Capitalizing on his innovation experience, he was named chief transformation officer in September 2019, and then chief strategy and transformation officer in July 2020. In July 2021, he was named chief strategy officer, responsible for directing the company’s strategic evaluation of its defined lithium brine resource. In January 2022, Dr. Bartlett was named senior vice president, lithium commercial and technology, supporting the development of the company’s lithium resource and leading efforts to bring that resource to market.   

Prior to joining the company, Dr. Bartlett spent 10 years working at Monsanto Company, a global provider of agricultural products, where he led the discovery and development of next generation transgenic traits and agricultural biologicals. He is also a fifth-generation owner of his family farm and ranch in central Kansas.

Dr. Bartlett holds a Bachelor of Science in genetics and a doctorate in biochemistry and biophysics from the University of Kansas. He completed his postdoctoral studies at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is the author and co-author of numerous publications in the fields of biochemistry, biophysics and cell biology.
